2PM‘s Taecyeon is showing his fighting spirit during the group’s Japanese concert tour, despite an arm injury.

As previously revealed, Taecyeon received surgery for a fracture on his left humerus. Although the surgery was a success, it required that he be in a cast for about a month. Fortunately, the doctors cleared him for performing on stage.

JYP Entertainment assured, “Taecyeon is determined to meet his fans, and we believe that there won’t be a problem with him performing at the Budokan or the Yokohama Arena with the rest of the 2PM members.”

They continued, “It might not be perfect, but we’ll have him on stage depending on his progress of recovery.”

After garnering much attention with their latest album ‘Alive‘, and recently announcing and upcoming Japanese edition of the album, ‘Alive – Monster Edition‘, Big Bang has yet another album to burn a hole in VIPs pockets.  YG-Life recently revealed tracklist information for an upcoming special edition album, ‘Still Alive‘.

The new album will include five new tracks including “Still Alive“, “Bingle Bingle“, “Feeling” “Ego” and “Monster“, in addition to several previously included tracks from ‘Alive’.

The album is scheduled for a release on June 3rd.  It is unclear what, if any, promotions they will undertake with this album, given that they are in the middle of the Japanese leg of their Alive Tour.  Stay tuned to allkpop for more details about the release.

Comedian Jung Jun Ha finally tied the knot on May 20th and many celebrities attended his wedding ceremony to congratulate the funnyman including, Kim Hyun Joong and Kang Ho Dong.

Before the ceremony began, a press conference was held in addition to congratulatory messages from guests. Kim Hyun Joong attended the event and commented, “I hope Jung Jun Ha hyungnim lives happily for a long time and I hope the two of them love each other and become joyful for a million years“. Next, Kang Ho Dong appeared and left a message, saying, “I was invited by Jung Jun Ha and came to congratulate him. I honestly congratulate him on his marriage and I hope Jung Jun Ha gives a lot of love to his wife. I hope they give birth to many sons who resemble Jung Jun Ha and many daughters who resemble the bride and raise a happy family. I also wish viewers to stay healthy and be happy.”

Yoon Jong Shin also attended and commented, “Jung Jun Ha is very shy and he always calls me up when he goes anywhere. Marriage isn’t easy, I hope they live a good life.”

In addition, the ‘Infinite Challenge‘ team also came to congratulate their fellow member. On a side note, Jung Jun Ha’s bride is Japanese and goes by the name, Nimo. The two have been in a relationship since 2009. Nimo is 10 years younger than Jung Jun Ha.

As mentioned earlier, the 10 contestants on Mnet‘s reality program ‘Mydol‘ have been whittled down to 6 final members who have been given an official name VIXX.

The final members of VIXX, who are under Jelly Fish Entertainment alongside Sung Si Kyung, Seo In Guk, and Brian, were chosen through viewer votes alone, and the group’s name was decided on by votes by viewers as well.

Last week, the group unveiled their first two MV teasers, now they have released a third video teaser to gear up for their upcoming debut on May 24th with “Super Hero“, check it out below!

May 21st marks the ‘Coming of Age Day’ in Korea, a day to celebrate those turning twenty that year.

In celebration, the three beautiful hosts of SBS‘s ‘Inkigayo‘ had a few things in store for viewers. Before introducing this week’s line-up of artists, MC’s Goo Hara and Nicole each presented viewers a bouquet of roses and a perfume.

However, when it was IU‘s turn, the singer surprised viewers saying, “I have prepared a kiss!” and gradually made her way towards the camera to give it a smooch. But of course, the others quickly grabbed her from going any further to which IU remarked, “I’m also 20 years old. I’m at the age where I can do these things!”

Viewers couldn’t help but adore the nation’s little sister as they left comments such as, “Why is IU so cute?“, “I wish I was the camera“, “She’s so cute whatever she does“, and more.

Many ‘Running Man‘ viewers were expecting world-renowned soccer player, Park Ji Sung to make a physical appearance on today’s broadcast. However, Park was only featured digitally in the beginning and made a very short appearance at the end. Instead two idol groups appeared on the show, SISTAR and MBLAQ.

On the May 20th broadcast, the Running Man members were missioned to ‘find Park Ji Sung’, the 9th running man. During the process, the members were directed to find the 9th running man in a school library. Having their feets tied together as a 7-member group, the team had a difficult time moving around.

To the surprise of the running man members, SISTAR made appeared and one of whom was designated ‘the 9th running woman’. After a tough struggle to eliminate SISTAR, the members finally caught the last member Bora towards the end of the segment.

JYP Entertainment‘s latest duo, JJ Project has started their music career with a bang!

On May 20th, JJ Project reported good news to their followers by uploading an iTunes chart that exhibits their “Bounce” album, ranked at number 10 on iTunes’s ‘Top Dance Album‘ chart. It’s only been a day since the boys revealed their song “Bounce”, but it looks like their names have already caught the attention of many listeners worldwide.

Boy group, MBLAQ made a guest appearance on today’s broadcast of SBS‘ ‘Running Man‘.  Although there was a lot of hype over Park Ji Sung‘s attendance on the show, he did not physically participate in the program.

On today’s broadcast, the Running Man members were directed to find the hidden running men scattered around their designated areas. During the process, MBLAQ made a brief appearance and was missioned to attack Song Ji Hyo with water guns. Of course, the Running Man members were also equipped with lethal water guns of their own, to scare away any incoming enemies.

The first victim was none other than member, G.O, who was shot down by the one and only Korean terminator, Kim Jong Kook. Lee Joon became the second member to get eliminated. Hilariously, Lee Joon positioned himself on top of a roof, but was quickly spotted by the running man team.

Yoo Jae Suk, Ha Ha, and Lee Kwang Soo decided to head for the roof top and shoot him down themselves. Lee Joon, who was caught off guard screamed, “AHHHH!” when Yoo Jae Suk appeared before him. The running man members became startled by his scream as well, and tried to calm him down.

On May 19th, JYJ‘s Junsu successfully kicked off his first solo concert, ‘XIA – 1st Asia Tour in Seoul‘, with an audience of 8,000 fans!

C-JeS Entertainment revealed, “The concert was an absolute success to the point that fans just couldn’t bear to leave the concert hall nearly two hours after the concert had already come to an end. There were a lot of fans that fainted in the middle of the concert, so we’re going to have ambulances on standby for today’s concert in advance.”

Fans from Korea, Japan, China, Malaysia, Canada, Chile, France, and other parts of the world flew in for the special two-day concert. Representatives commented, “Fans from all over the world came to congratulate Junsu’s first solo concert.”

Junsu performed all 11 tracks on his solo album as well as several musical numbers, bringing the grand total to 17 performances. He worked hand in hand with his dance team and brought out cheers for the sexiness he was able to exude in “Lullaby” and “Intoxication” especially.

Junsu will be performing one more time on May 20th.

Upcoming boy group VIXX has launched a special event for their fans!

Through their official Twitter and fan cafe, the boys will be personally releasing download links to their songs and teaser music videos before their official release online.

On May 20th, Jelly Fish Entertainment explained, “We wanted to create an event that will allow the fans to feel closer with the members. As a present, we’ll be sharing the file downloads for their second teaser video before its official release.”

VIXX previously starred on Mnet‘s ‘Mydol‘ and showed their debut survival process by competing against ten members before finally becoming the six member group they are now.

Looks like we have another incredible dance cover in our hands, and this time it’s by none other than Aimee Lee Lucas, Lydia Paek, Ellen Kim and Aye Hasegawa!

Shot like a real music video, the story follows Aimee, Lydia, Ellen and Aye competing to impress a love interest played by Carlin James. While using the original 2NE1 track, the ladies’ performance shows off alternate choreography by Ellen Kim to give this fierce hit a fresh twist.

To introduce the video, Ellen shared in the information box:

“Hello! I promised you that I will be doing a 2NE1 song, so here it is!! I wanted to approach this song differently. Instead of showcasing choreography, I incorporated a concept. It was such a pleasure to work with these ladies and the ones previous to this video. Hope you enjoy!!”

IU – “Gee / Lies / Sorry Sorry”

IU’s acoustic mash-up of “Gee,” “Lies,” and “Sorry Sorry” melted hearts around the world. With her innocent voice and ‘girl next door’ appeal, you can listen literally listen to this girl sing all day.

Jay Park – “Candy”

H.O.T‘s “Candy” is one of the most covered songs in kpop. For everyone who has a sweet tooth, check out this rendition of Candy where old school meets new school as Jay Park teams up with original H.O.T. member Moon Hee Joon!

Ailee – “Halo”

When rookie artist Ailee covered Beyonce‘s “Halo,” she had some big shoes to fill. Not only did she do the song justice, but the singer made a statement that she’s here to stay and make her own mark in k-pop history.

KARA member Goo Hara recently tweeted about her well-deserved vacation break.

On May 20th, the idol uploaded photos from her trip and wrote, “A brief trip. Kyaa, I ate roasted shellfish, lighted fireworks, and enjoyed fun and memorable games.”

Based on the six-set photo shots, it looks like Goo Hara enjoyed a happy weekend with her family and friends, playing with an arcade system, lighting up fireworks, and eating with her family, Goo Hara took a step back to enjoy the fruits of her labor.

Followers embraced her happy photos and commented, “I’m glad you had a good time“, “Those shellfish look delicious“, and “Enjoy your break while you can!”

In contrast to the multitude of Korean and international articles praising the Hallyu wave’s rapid international spread and predicting its future growth, a new KoreaTimes article suggests that the viral nature of this success may not last as long as some expect.

“Six out of 10 foreigners believe the recent fad for Korean culture ― K-pop, movies and TV dramas and soap operas ― will decline over the next few years,” the report reveals. A survey by Korea’s Ministry of Culture Sports and Tourism and the Korea Foundation for International Culture Exchange (KOFICE) revealed that 60% of 3,600 people in nine countries doubt that the Hallyu wave will see lasting international success.

“The main reason foreigners doubted hallyu’s continued success is because they are ‘tired of standardized content,’” the article explained, attesting that 20.5% of respondents voted for this reason.

“Hypersexual dancing, lyrics and clothing are common among K-pop “idols,” and teen singers,” the report points out. “Korean drama series repeatedly revisit topics such as adulterous affairs, revenge and secrets surrounding the birth or identity of characters, making it difficult to move increasingly desensitized audiences.”

Experts believe that Korea must ‘sell its unique story’ in order to win over other countries by integrating the nation’s traditions into Korean pop culture.

As one representative from the culture ministry said, “Content that isn’t original and diverse will not survive in the market. It is essential to diversify the stories in the media … We also need to encourage financial investment in media, because you can’t create a masterpiece with just a great story and an idea.”

Actress Ha Ji Won and miss A‘s Suzy were recently spotted wearing the same dress!

Ha Ji Won recently attended the movie premier of ‘Korea‘, which was held in Chiba, Japan. The actress, who has been receiving love and support through the movie ‘Korea’, stepped into the premier in a black off-the-shoulder dress, revealing her sexy and healthy body. In order to supplement her gorgeous dress, Ha Ji Won also wore a necklace that added a sense of elegance.

miss A’s Suzy wore the same dress on SBS‘s ‘Running Man‘! Unlike Ha Ji Won, Suzy gave a more innocent, cute, and feminine look to the outfit. She wore a pink colored necklace to add a sense of loveliness to the overall look.

After finding out that these two stars wore the same dress, netizens commented, “I can’t choose between the two…“, “Suzy’s flowery smile is the best!“, and “Suzy gives the young innocent girl look, while Ha Ji Won gives the sexy woman look.”

The May 19th broadcast of jTBC‘s ‘Shinhwa Broadcast‘ featured the episode ‘Speech Channel – The God of Words’, in which the members of Shinhwa compete against each other in speech challenges to win the title as the “God of Words”.

Prior to starting the competition, the producer of ‘Shinhwa Broadcast’ created a seating chart ranking the Shinhwa members from 1st place to 6th place. The members tried to figure out what the ranking was based on considering that Andy was in first place, Hyesung in second, Dongwan in third, Eric in fourth, Junjin in fifth, and Minwoo in last place.

Subsequently, the producer revealed that the ranking was based on the title, ‘The Member Who Can’t Speak’. Andy looked pestered upon realizing that he won first place for being the worst speaker.

Minwoo read aloud the producer’s explanation for each member’s ranking, sharing, ”Andy [for first place] — he tries really hard to talk, but I can’t understand what he’s talking about. He talks to himself and then laughs to himself.“ Correspondingly, clips of Andy giving a nonsense answer during an interview and talking and laughing to himself in his car were played to prove the producer’s point.

Next, Minwoo continued, “Hyesung — he’s better than Andy. Dongwan — he is known as the wit guy, however, Eric seems to hate his wit. Eric — he talks well to the Shinhwa members and Gomdori (his dog) but he can’t talk to other people. Junjin — he’s funny and has good timing, but he keeps trying to copy Eric. Minwoo — he is funny and speaks surprisingly well. It was seriously a surprise. A surprise…”

Child actress Kim Yoo Jung‘s biological sister has been revealed on television.

On the May 18th broadcast of KBS‘s ‘Free Confidence‘, Kim Yoo Jung made an appearance on the show.  What attracted the most attention however, was her biological sister who guest-featured with her.

Just like her little sister, Kim Yeon Jung also displayed innocence and beauty that immediately drew attention from the audience.  Amazed by Yeon Jung’s beauty, the MC remarked, “I bet you received requests to work in the entertainment business since you are equally as beautiful as your sister.”  In response, Yeon Jung answered, “I was once invited by the director when I visited Yoo Jung’s filming set.”

She continued, “To be honest, being a celebrity is a dream of mine.  I have ambitions in acting and singing.  However, I’m not good at singing.  When I look at the mirror, I do believe I’m pretty.”

In addition, actress Kim Yoo Jung drew attention when she revealed her weekly allowance during the episode.

Singer Kim Sung Soo recently got smacked in the face during a performance, thanks to miss A member Suzy‘s long arms.

On the May 18th broadcast of KBS‘s ‘Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook‘, Suzy made a guest appearance and performed alongside Lee Jae Hoon and Kim Sung Soo from group Cool.

Suzy, who filled in for band member Yuri, performed “Sorrow” along with Lee Jae Hoon and Kim Sung Soo. During the last part of the performance, Suzy clapped her hands by swinging her arms widely in a circle, to excite the audience. However, Kim Sung Soo started to make his way upfront, only to get smacked in the face by Suzy’s lengthy arms. Kim Sung Soo showed a light smile and continued on with the performance, doing justice to his band’s name.

Netizens who viewed the performance cracked up and wrote, “I thought she was really pissed off “, “I bet Kim Sung Soo is still happy that he got touched by Suzy“, and “Aww, I missed this broadcast..bummer..”

On May 20th, the idol uploaded the above photo shot and tweeted, “At the Honda Center, where tomorrow’s concert will be held!!!^^ It’s now time for our rehearsal!!! Wow so excited!!”

Wearing a sexy white tank top that clenches around his upper body, Leeteuk greeted his followers in sleek black shades. The highly anticipated ‘SMTOWN Live World Tour lll’ concert in Anaheim, California will be hosting SM’s amazing artists including Girls’ Generation, TVXQ, Super Junior, SHINee, and even new boy group, EXO. Girls’ Generation, TVXQ, and Super Junior will be heading to the ‘Korea Music Wave in Google‘ concert the next day.
